Hips & Glutes exercises.

Hip and glute exercises to improve flexibility, reduce tightness, and support lower body mechanics for desk workers and athletes.

Overview

Tight hips and underactive glutes are common contributors to lower back pain, knee problems, and sciatica-like symptoms. Prolonged sitting shortens the hip flexors and weakens the glutes, creating imbalances that affect posture and movement. These exercises help restore flexibility in the hip joint, activate the gluteal muscles, and improve the connection between the hips and the rest of the kinetic chain. They are beneficial for desk workers, runners, and anyone recovering from lower body discomfort.

Common questions about hips & glutes exercises

Why do tight hips affect my lower back?
Limited hip motion can force the lumbar spine to compensate during walking, lifting, and sitting-to-standing. Restoring hip mobility and glute strength often reduces that demand.
Should glute exercises make me sore?
Mild muscle fatigue is normal. Sharp joint pain, pinching in the front of the hip, or radiating leg symptoms means you should stop and get guidance.
How often should I train hips and glutes at home?
A short session most days, or every other day for strengthening, is a common starting point. Follow the volume your practitioner prescribed for your case.
