Nerve Flossing exercises.

Gentle nerve gliding exercises to relieve tingling, numbness, and nerve-related discomfort in the arms and legs.

Overview

Nerve flossing (also called nerve gliding) involves gentle, controlled movements that help a nerve slide more freely through the surrounding tissues. When nerves become restricted by tight muscles, scar tissue, or joint stiffness, they can cause tingling, numbness, or radiating pain. These exercises are commonly prescribed for conditions like sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and thoracic outlet syndrome. Movements should be smooth and pain-free. If symptoms worsen, stop and consult your practitioner.

Common questions about nerve flossing exercises

What is nerve flossing?
Nerve flossing is a gentle gliding movement that helps a nerve move more freely through surrounding tissues. It is commonly used for sciatica-like and other nerve-related symptoms.
Should nerve flossing recreate my symptoms?
A mild familiar sensation can occur, but sharp, escalating, or lasting symptom spikes mean you should stop. These drills should stay controlled and mostly comfortable.
Can nerve flossing fix sciatica on its own?
Usually not. It is one tool within a broader plan that may include assessment, joint care, soft-tissue work, and progressive loading.
