Lower Limb exercises.

Leg, knee, and ankle exercises to strengthen the lower body, improve balance, and support recovery after strain or overuse.

Overview

The lower limbs absorb impact with every step and provide the foundation for standing, walking, and running. Weak or tight muscles in the legs and ankles can contribute to knee pain, plantar fasciitis, and poor balance. These exercises target the quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, and the small stabilizing muscles of the ankle and foot. They help maintain joint health, support recovery after injury, and improve the mechanics of daily movement.

Common questions about lower limb exercises

Which lower limb exercises help ankle stability?
Heel raises, toe raises, heel/toe walks, and ankle alphabet drills are useful starting points for control and endurance around the ankle.
Can calf stretches help plantar fascia discomfort?
Improving soleus and calf mobility can reduce load through the foot in some cases. Persistent heel pain should still be assessed rather than stretched endlessly.
When should knee exercises be avoided?
Avoid pushing through sharp joint pain, locking, giving way, or swelling that increases after sessions. Get clearance after recent injury or surgery.
